Y2 HORSE OF THE YEAR
AUTUMN FUN With 8 wins from her 14 starts this year, Autumn Fun of Kings Park Racing brought her total wins to 17 from 30 starts this year, making her the first GII runner on SPoK. While not the oddest colouring out there, this mare's bold chestnut coat certainly stands out in a crowd, especially when leading a race from wire to wire - her favourite way to run a race. Autumn Fun's most notable race this season was her win in the featured Lousiville Cup, followed closely by placings in the Queen's Sprint and Summer Oaks, also featured races.
Y2 CHAMPION THREE YEAR OLD
LAUGH IT OFF Laugh It Off, a three year old chestnut mare from Flat Creek Racing, has had a very successful year, bringing her race record to 14 wins from 31 starts, and only unplaced in two races overall. She has yet to win any featured races, but her prowess in most races alone has won her the favor of the crowd.
Y2 STABLE OF THE YEAR
KING'S PARK RACING Home to champion GII sprinter Autumn Fun, and successful racers like Looking Glass, Syllable, and the up-and-coming two year old Windsong, Kings Park is well-rounded in both surface and distance. Owned and run by Tally Cremer, Kings Park is located just down the road from the track where the horses race, meaning that they have access to all facilities full-time and their horses are completely used to the track they are running on.
Y2 BREEDER OF THE YEAR
KING'S PARK RACING King's Park has bred two outstanding youngsters this year - Volition and Sails Abroad. Volition is a grullo colt out of unraced mare Princess Marie, by the well-known stud Zynco, while Sails Abroad is a grey filly from a cross between mare Coursette, also unraced, and lesser-known stud Tabourine, both owned by King's Park. There are high hopes for both foals for the future.
Y2 SIRE OF THE YEAR
TAMBOURINE Though kept out of racing by on-going injury, this hasn't stopped Tambourine from becoming a prized stud. Though a bright bay, 'Torto' as he is known to the people of Kings Park Racing has produced two grey fillies this year - Sails Abroad out of Coursette, also of Kings Park, and Skyward out of Devil's Food, of Flat Creek Racing.
