SPoK is back up and running again! Maria and I have been working hard to revamp the place and over to v5 of Proboards; a lot of things have changed, meaning a bit of work for members.
Human Joining Forms
Anyone who posted multiple character forms into one thread will need to go and split them into seperate threads - any we couldn't sort have been moved out of Accepted and into the Mingle board. This is just to make it easier to see how any characters we have in different jobs and to make characters easier to find.
Horse Registration
Horse registration has changed! Your horses now need registration numbers to be eligible for race entry and breeding. These numbers are easy to get - we are slowly readding names to the Name Registration list, along with numbers; once your horse has a number, you need to post a filled out Horse Registration Form in the Registry board.
Consultant
The Consultant now runs a little differently - you now post codes in a different thread each time you visit (multiple horses can be done in one thread). These threads will be deleted two months after their post date, as you should be storing these details on your horse's page and in the Registry pages.
Races
The way races are run has changed. Horses now have six stats (speed, stamina, agility, ability, dirt and turf), five of which make up their base score for a race. A random number out of 20 is rolled using the new dice plugin when the horse is entered, and then admins add up the numbers and post results.
A more in-depth explanation can be found here.
Fees/Bank
Most fees are now paid through the Shop found in the navigation bar at the top of the page. This means the only things being tallied in your bank account should be race fees/earnings and stud fees paid/recieved (and auction purchases).
Vet
There is now a chance that horses that run the wrong surface/distance will be injured! Vet checks on these horses are recommended. Horses can also be injured if they haven't had a training post in the roleplay boards. Gelding is also offered, for a price, and will raise your horse's base stats, making them better racers.
Stalls
You now need to purchase stall space according to how many horses you have. Stables begin with ten stalls, and will need to buy more to house more horses. Stables with more than ten horses prior to the revamp are exempt from this rule for the time being, though you should be buying stalls whenever you can.
Awards
Year 10 awards have been announced! Head to the Awards board to find out the winners.
Mixed Auction
A mixed stock auction has been started in the Auctions board for anyone to consign to and bid on. New players, this a good place to pick up some stock that have already begun their racing careers, or some nice breeding stock! (There are also a few horses in the Humane Society looking for homes).
Current Races
It is now Meet 3, Year 11. Races are up for entering in their respective boards, and will be avaiable for entering for one week following the site's reopening.
