HOW ARE RACES RUN?
This system uses 6 different stats, 5 of which go into the horse's actual race score. These stats are:
Speed - How quickly your horse accelerates. Usually indicates a sprinter
Stamina - How long your horse can go for. Usually indicates a distance horse
Agility - How well your horse copes in tight quarters
Ability - Your horse's basic racing ability
Dirt - Your horse's preference for dirt. Doesn't come into play in turf races.
Turf - Your horse's preference for turf. Doesn't come into play in dirt races.
The four performance stats (speed, stamina, agility and ability) are added together to create a total that is your horse's base score in every race it runs. This score is added onto the end of your stats when you enter a race. The surface stat score is added by an admin later depending on which surface you have entered on.
When entering, you provide your horse's registration number, name, individual stats, and total score, as well as a dice roll (one for each horse). Dice rolls are done by clicking the dice icon on the posting page.
ENTRY EXAMPLES
#001 Gold Mine - 8 4 6 6 10 2 (24)
HDZkyv3G
#002 Miracle - 2 9 6 9 10 5 (26)
#003 Sudden Light - 8 5 6 10 10 9 (29)
#004 Big Reward - 9 5 6 8 10 2 (28)
#005 Elephant Man - 4 4 8 9 10 5 (25)
The race we are going to run is a 6F Dirt GIII.
Once entries have closed, admins take the added up stats (eg. Gold Mine currently has a 24) and adds on the score for the surface (Gold Mine now has a 34) plus the randomised roll that occurred when the horse was entered (Gold Mine scored a 5 on the roll; his final score for this race is 39).
- Most horses will have at least one surface which is at 10
- Running a horse on a surface for which it has a score less than 5 will usually result in injury
- Running on a surface your horse has a low score for will usually result in a low placing
- The randomised roll encompasses the current fitness of the horse, morale, and how they're feeling on the day, and is calculated out of 20.
If two horses have the same final score, we look at their base scores again (If Gold Mine and Big Reward scored the same, Big Reward would be the winner).
RESULT EXAMPLES
Win: Miracle (52)
Place: Big Reward (51)
Show: Sudden Light (47)
Fourth: Elephant Man (44)
Fifth: Gold Mine (38)
- Injury notes are handed out with results
- Injury notes occur when a horse runs;
EG. If Gold Mine had scored a 3 in his roll, his result would have looked like this:
Fifth: Gold Mine (37) - INJ
- To deal with an injury, you must have them checked by the vet

- on a surface they have a stat of less than 5 for
- at a distance they have less than 3 for in the corresponding stat
- when they run without a recent workout
- when they run on a previous injury
- when they score less than a 2 in their random roll
