Lynn Smith
Lynn stood in front of what used to be hers. It was late morning on a beautiful spring day, the sun casting a golden sheen over the barns. Where the tiny fifteen horse barn had once stood there were four new barns - a large racing barn and three smaller barns. Grooms were scattered over the property, watering plants, leading horses, sweeping. After standing there for a few moments, a groom can up to her. "Ma'm, do you have an appointment, otherwise I'll have to ask you to leave." Lynn looked at him for a second, then replied, "I have an appointment with John. He's expecting me." A lie, but seeing as she had given him his chance to be a big time trainer, then later on own Flat Creek, she figured that a lie to surprise him.
"Follow me, then, Ma'm. John's office is this way. The groom led her down the aisle, past horses that Lynn herself had bred, named, owned. Rissy, Cash, Andy, Music, and Amber were all in their stalls. The groom stopped next to a door at the end of the aisle. "This is his office. I'm pretty sure that he is in there right now." he then turned and left.
Lynn knocked on the door, and when hearing John tell her to come in. He stared at her in surprise. "Lynn? What are you doing here? Please, sit down." Lynn nodded, then sat down, but didn't say anything. After a moment, John frowned, then said, "You aren't here to visit, else wise you would have been here three years ago. Out with it."ynn sighed, then said, "You're right, I'm not here to visit. I want to buy this place back." John shook his head, saying, "I can't do it. And don't bring money into it, like I know you're about to. I don't care about money. If I had, then I wouldn't have bought it in the first place." Lynn sighed, "I figured you'd say that. Is there any way that I can be involved at all, though? I can't stay away any longer."
John thought for a moment, then said, "Well, I'm needing an assistant trainer. With all these horses I'm too busy. Would you be interested?" Lynn nodded as soon as John said it. "Of course." John smiled. "Welcome back to the team, then. I'll see you bright and early tomorrow morning, then." Lynn nodded again. "Sounds like a plan. See you then."
