Lee and the others at FF Got yet another early start, something all of them were used to. As she exited the house and walked into the barn with her coffee in hand, Lee made sure to pause beside her favorite horses stall. Setting the cup on his stall wall, she smiled in at the huge black stallion. ”Hey Die.” She murmured softly, laughing as he walked over and nudged her shoulder repeatedly. ”Alright Alright.” Still smiling she pulled the carrot from her back pocket and offered it to her baby with a kiss. He snorted, grabbed the carrot and retreated into his stall, turning his butt towards her. Lee shook her head and with a fond smile, turned and headed further into the barn.
Today was going to be a busy day, today she and two others would be working Will and his two half sisters. Up ahead she caught sight of Ricky and Trevor. ”Hey guys. Ready?” She asked, setting her cup on the table by the tack room. ”Yup. All three are groomed and tacked.” Ricky replied, before pulling her into a hug as he tugged her down the isle. Trevor watched with fond exasperation while Lee struggled free and smacked Ricky upside the head. ”Jerk.” She murmured, fixing her hair which caused both to burst into laughter.
Ignoring the guys antics she paused at the stall of yet another big, black stallion. However this one was calmer, and simply stared at her. ”Ready to go handsome?” To say she was relieved that Will was more relaxed than some of his siblings, was an understatement. Opening the door she lead the big colt out, grunting when he nudged her and nearly knocked her over. ”Hey. Watch it bub.” Will was a near twin to his sire, if it weren’t for the lack of a stocking on his front right leg they’d be twins.
Once the trio were mounted up, they began the short ride to the practice track. All three horses moved in tandem with each other, matching their paces to that of Will. Lee was proud of Will, though he’d only had three starts he’d won every single one. ”You girls need to take notes.” She teased his half sisters as they turned onto the track. Glancing at the two jockies she’d nod ”We’re working em for 6 furlongs. Not a step further. Once you pass that pole start cooling em.” Both boys nodded and the trio urged the horses into a swift jog as they headed up the track to their starting point. Lee was well aware of the other horses on the track, for while the three she’d brought out were laid back… two were still Die’s children.
