a brand new, literate-advanced creatures of the night roleplay.
Out in the central valley of California lies a little town called Dorrington, once a town of no consequence, except to the people who lived there. It was a quiet place, kept in line by the old, wealthy rancher families who had law enforcement in their pockets and most businessmen on their payroll. Life was good. Until Dorrington found itself on a brand new interstate. Over a little more than a decade the town swelled, and like an overripe fruit it began to rot. New folks moved into town, new folks with the vaguest grasp of right and wrong. It wasn't long before the drug business started up, followed by the brothel. The drug of choice was just marijuana at first, though it was quickly followed up by meth, cocaine, ecstasy, and practically every other drug under the sun. The town was going to the dogs.
Who of course, had owned Dorrington since the early days.
The old rancher family, and their posse, were a bunch of werewolves who'd moved west back during the gold rush to take advantage of the abundant land and hunting prospects. Time had managed to gentrify them a little bit, time and the responsibility of protecting their home. The Dorrington sheriff had always answered to the alpha of the Fallen Tree pack, from the first days to the present. It was no wonder the old families didn't like the new people moving into town either, as a good number of them were vampires. Yes, vampires, and they were the ones bringing along drugs and prostitution. They had to have nighttime careers, after all.
Tensions in Dorrington are running high as weres and vamps battle it out in the shadows, trying to keep their blood feud under wraps. But after the old sheriff's mysterious disappearance, things have started to get heated. A new sheriff is coming to town, one without ties to the old blood or the new, and he's got his heart set on sniffing out trouble. But even as the the gang war is starting to heat up, some folks are still just trying to get by, day by day, and some folks are just trying to add fuel to the fire.
When talk spreads like wildfire, who would have thought their secrets could be so easily exposed, all of this starting with a whisper.
