John Stokes
John sat in his barn office, work finished for the day. The horses were eating their lunches, a small meal in the middle of the day for energy. He set aside the final piece of paperwork for the day and picked up the newspaper that he had picked up after the works. After flipping through a few pages, he paused at a headline that had caught his eye.
FLAT CREEK RACING SOLD
Throughbred racing stable and breeder, Flat Creek Racing, was just sold. Former owner, Lynn Smith commented "We were having some issues. My husband's business had put our family deeply in debt and the only way to pay that off was to sell."And just who was Flat Creek sold to? Why, its very own trainer, John Stokes. According to Stokes, very few, if any, changes will occur. John will still be training and the jockeys and grooms already there will stay. "I couldn't let it go to another trainer. That would kill me. This is my life," said Stokes. "Flat Creek will be around as a top class breeding and racing facility, just as it has been."
As he read the article, John's face grew red. It was true, he had bought Flat Creek from Lynn. They had been interviewed by several newspapers, but they had all been told to wait to release the articles. There were reasons. Oh, well, the news was out and there was nothing he could do about it now. He folded up the newspaper and set it aside, then went out into the barn. He walked down the row until he got to the last stall on the left.
Rocket stuck his head out into the aisle, pinning his ears, the putting them forward after seeing who it was. "Hey, there buddy. How are you doing today?" He rubbed the bald face and the stallion gave a soft nicker. Suddenly, the champion's ears went back, as if someone was walking into the barn. John turned away from Rocket to see who it was.
OOC: This is just for rp, why FCR horses were off the tracks and weren't bred in Y6.
